Alonzo Gurule

West Jordan, Ut-Alonzo Gurule passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 23rd 2015. Born to Manuel and Vicenta Gurule, on Sept 27th 1943 in Rutherton NM. He arrived in SLC with his family in 1957, there he met many lifelong friends. Alonzo loved playing the guitar, he was a talented musician and played in several different bands. He also liked cruisin' in his 55' Chevy. Alonzo attended South High School. In 1968 Alonzo started his career at Kennecott Copper Mine. He worked for 28 years before retiring in 1996 after becoming paralyzed from the waist down after surgery complications. Alonzo was married in 1964 and later divorced in 1985 to Marie Cordova Gurule. Alonzo is survived by his son Lonny (Angel) Gurule and his four grandchildren who were the loves of his life (Rico, Desbie, Alonzo, Dionna). Brother Richard (Porfie) Gurule, sisters Viola Tovar, Rachel (Kent) Bertelsen, Patricia Gurule. Preceeded in death by his father Manuel Gurule, Mother Vicenta Gurule, sisters Edna (Fred) Morales, and Benita Gurule, brother Louis Gurule, niece Wanda Morales, and nephew Richie Gurule. Viewing will take place from 6-8PM with a Vigil starting at 7, Monday Dec. 28th at St. Joseph the Worker, 7405 S. Redwood Rd. W. Jordan, Ut. Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29th at 11:00AM at St. Joseph the Worker with burial to follow at Redwood Memorial 6500 S Redwood Road, W. Jordan, Utah. I love you dad. -Young Feller
