Edna LoRene Koelliker Pay passed away in Salt Lake City, July 27, 2003 after a long illness.

Edna and her twin brother Edward were born Feb. 28, 1919 in Salt Lake City, to Conrad and Edith Camill Hawley Koelliker. She attended local grade and junior high schools and graduated from South High. She married Douglas L. Pay Nov. 14, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of three children, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Edna had a beautiful alto singing voice and sang professionally in a women's trio. As a member of the Allegro Chorus and as the president of the Associated Women's Choruses of Utah she was able to arrange for many famous guest singers to perform at their annual concerts in the Salt Lake Tabernacle.

She worked many years at South High School as treasurer and was loved by the students because of her ability to understand and relate to them and became their advocate with administration. After leaving South, she worked in the Financial Aid department at the University of Utah until her retirement.

Edna held many positions in the LDS Church including serving 12 years on the General Board of the YWMIA. In this capacity she served as the first chairman of the combined Sports and Camping Committee and later served as chairman of the Dance Committee where she wrote and taught dancing throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. She directed many dance festivals that were held annually in the stadium at the University of Utah. She served as Ward Relief Society president for many years and through her loving and tender caring had a special relationship with many women. Edna was currently serving as a Service Missionary at the Museum of Church History and Art. Through her joy of living and her loving heart, she was admired and loved by those who knew her.

Survived by her husband; children, Kathryn (Robert) Barney, Jerry (Renee) Pay and Steve (Shannon) Pay, grandchildren: Scott, Mark, Chris, Michael, Elizabeth, Shalice, Shaundee, Sharielle, Brianne, and Derek; six great-grandchildren, brothers, Donald (Blanche) and A. Jay Koelliker, sisters, Mary Howcroft and Lois Koelliker and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, 11:00 a.m. Draper 2nd LDS Ward House, 1640 E. 12700 So. Draper, UT. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So. 6-9 p.m., Fri., Aug. 1, 2003 and 9:00- 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So.

The family wish to thank Dr. Greg Litton and his staff as well as the care providers at St. Marks Hospital for their loving and tender service for the past few years.
